Focus On Character

Junior Cotillion in Southwest Florida

The Foundation manages two chapters of the National League of Junior Cotillions in Southwest Florida.  One of the country's finest character education programs. the mission of Junior Cotillions is to teach children the value of treating others with dignity and respect for better relationships with family and friends and to teach social dance.  Junior Cotillion is a three-season program.  Over 3000 students have participated in the program representing a constituency of five counties and fifty-two schools. Continuing a radition centuries old,  Junior Cotillion teaches important life-skills that help a child successfully navigate their adolescent years, the transitional period during which a young person developed from a child into an adult.. Along with etiquette, social interaction, and manners in the home, Cotillion emphasizes the importance of approaching all one does with honesty, integrity, and fidelity. Students discuss the value of treating others with fairness, respect, and a caring attitude, the importance of being accountable, mindful of one's duty to citizenship, to be a man or woman of one's word, and to pursue all they do with excellence.
